5 AM Studios is a roomy, comfortable recording studio located in the heart of Austin’s trendy SoCo neighborhood and just minutes from the Sixth Street and Warehouse District entertainment areas.  We have a spacious 375 s.f. control room with excellent acoustics and one of the best tracking rooms in town (more than 4,500 c.f.).  Our live room has a modular acoustics system that lets you tailor the decay of the room to the needs of your project.

Our equipment list includes all high-end recording gear based around Pro Tools HD Accel 2 with 32 inputs and 32 outputs, Apogee converters, a maxed-out Apple Mac Pro (8 Core 3.2 GHz, 18 GB RAM, 4 TB storage), and a fantastic arsenal of vintage and modern outboard gear. 5 AM also has an extensive collection of electric and acoustic guitars and basses, guitar amplifiers, a Kawai upright grand piano, vintage Fender Rhodes, and other keyboards. We feature monitors by Barefoot,  TLC  (Bruce Maddocks) and Auratone with Hafler power amps. If you’re a fan of “in-the-box” mixing, you’ll appreciate our extensive collection of plug-ins by Waves, Massey, McDSP, Sonnox, Massenburg Design Works and others. We also have 32 channels of analog summing (SPL MixDream system) to give your mixes the depth and precision that only an analog mix can bring.

Out client lounge amenities include a big-screen TV, DVDs and basic kitchen appointments.  Our central location on South Congress Ave. is within easy walking distance to restaurants, stores and shops and is just minutes away from music stores and other vendors.
